Antique set of 4 diminutive cast iron casters with a luscious old patina. Unused, new old stock. By M. B. Schenck & Company of Meriden, Connecticut with patent dates of May 27, 1879 and April 17, 1888.
2” overall height. 1 5/8” x 2 1/8" mounting plates.
Scoured with power wire brushes to remove thick rust, then hand washed, leaving a luscious aged patina. Ready to turn up the drama on your project!
Interestingly, Mr. Schenck was a supporter of presidential candidate Lincoln. He served for the duration of the Civil War, and voted for Lincoln a second time by sending his ballot home from the war. He started his caster company shortly after returning home after the war. Thank you for your service, Mr. Schenck!
